Who is the facilitator?

Jenni de Knoop is a registered dance movement psychotherapist (DMP), clinical supervisor and lecturer. Before training as a psychotherapist (2002) Jenni was a professional dancer and community dance facilitator. She currently works in the NHS in adult mental health rehabilitation, has a private practice in London and Sussex, and is a lecturer at Roehampton University on the DMP and play therapy masters programmes. With over 25 years experience of working with groups, Jenni is passionate about enabling people to inhabit their unique bodies with creativity, respect and compassion. Jenni has a special interest in body-image and self-esteem and in supporting people to build a friendlier and more sensitive relationship with themselves and their bodies.

Why is exploring body image important?

How we feel about ourselves and our bodies shapes our self-esteem as well as how we interact with others and the world around us. For this reason it is important to explore how we have come to feel the way we do about ourselves and create the opportunity to challenge and transform any limiting self-beliefs.

In what way can participants hope to benefit?

The aim of the workshop is to facilitate a felt-sense of self-value and body-acceptance, providing women with the resources to build a healthy relationship with themselves and their bodies, to emerge from the workshop with the foundations on which to continue to develop being comfortable in their bodies and as such, more comfortable in the world.
