What is important about Movement Psychotherapy for Adolescents?
“What has been important to you in this group and what do you feel you have received from being part of this weekly session?”
This question was asked in the final session of an adolescent eating disorder open movement psychotherapy group I had been running. The group membership changed over time and on average there were seven participants ages 14-17 each with an average length in the group of six months. They were asked to write words and thoughts on a large piece of shared paper (a graffiti wall) whilst listening to music of their choice and moving freely in the room. The words are not listed below in any order of priority or significance.
